ROTARY TABLES

The rotary tables are mechanical units with orthogonal axes, where the continuous rotation of the input shaft results in the conversion into an intermittent rotation of the output disc. This is accomplished by mounting the cam to the input shaft and then an indexing disc holding the cam follower integrated with the output disc.

The profile of the cam and number of cam follower bearings applied determine the type of index movement that occurs.

The number of stations (2 to 32 with the possibility up to 540 stations) will be determined by the mechanism according to the customer’s requirements.

The index time from station to station is directly proportional to the cam angle and the input RPM.

The compact and robust structure of the Autorotor index tables, along with the tailoring of requirements with all the higher standards of performance, high axial as well as the radial load capacities is a standard for Autorotor. The Autorotor index table is maintenance free and over the time the highest levels of accuracy occurs due to the acceleration and deceleration of the indexing disc through the displacement generated by the cam and the fact that there is an absence of backlash.

ROTARY RINGS

The Rotating Ring is a device that transforms the continuous input rotary motion into an intermittent output motion. This is an evolution of a rotary index table, but it has the substantial difference in that the rotating part is not on the disc but on the crown. It is characterized by a large center hole which is ideal for the mounting of auxiliary equipment in the center of the ring.

It has a compact design and a high degree of precision.

Each model can be the possible solution for programmable stopping or continuous rotation.
The heavy duty cam followers, cylindrical cam and structural design guarantee high efficiency in all applications.
It also provides a quiet operation. It is run with a mechanical cam to optimize accuracy and repeatability.

INTERMITTORS / OSCILLATORS

AUTOROTOR has developed a full range of indexing devices for high speed mechanical transfer and pieces positioning. Reliability and performance of these equipments stem from our experience and unending research for better technological solutions.

When requirements are: productivity, high speed, accuracy, low noise, low running cost, experience has clearly shown that the mechanical rotary intermittent system is the answer.

Parallel axis intermittent-oscillating drive is a mechanical parallel axis unit which transforms the uniform rotation of the inlet shaft in an intermittent rotation of the output shaft by means of two conjugated cams engaged with cam followers fixed to the indexing disc.

The output shaft is hollow, so hoses, wires, etc., can pass through it. It’s also possible to connect it to mechanical transmission.

TORQUE TABLES

Torque tables are powered by a linear motor which has been rolled up. Therefore they generate a very high torque and, with a proper encoder aboard, are very precise in positioning.

The torque table runs like a normal synchronous motor. The magnets are fastened to the inner surface of a drum, which plays the role of the rotor, the motor’s movable part. The stator of said motor consists of a series of magnetic coils embedded in an iron matrix, star connected and powered by a three-phase current. The rotation speed depends on the frequency.

AUTOROTOR system’s field bus is Ethercat, undisputedly the fastest and more performing one of the category.  Also TK system programming is open to the most common standards and, more specifically, to the programming languages for automation (as per standard IEC 6-1131). All other control systems are also accepted.
